My Mum

Was always there.

Cooked my breakfast,

made my sandwiches,

walked me to school,

cleaned my cuts,

pulled out the bee stings,

read me a story.

Now she isn’t.

It’s up to me now.

Mum was 78.

Now I’m 79.
